Vestry Laight Named Independent Monitor for Riot Games Settlement

As part of Riot Games’ gender discrimination settlement with the California Civil Rights Department and private plaintiffs, Vestry Laight has been appointed the independent monitor. Over the next three years, we will oversee compliance with workplace reforms — including policies on discrimination, harassment, retaliation and pay equity — and support Riot’s efforts to ensure an inclusive and safe workplace.

Following a comprehensive assessment of USA Weightlifting’s culture, Vestry Laight issued a report November 18, 2021, outlining recommendations in key areas to help ensure the safety of its athletes and continue to build a culture that is welcoming to everyone. In addition to focusing on USA Weightlifting’s culture from a DEI perspective, the evaluation also examined USAW's handling of a high-profile U.S. Center for SafeSport case from 2017.

Vestry Laight has been engaged by USA Weightlifting, the National Governing Body for the sport of Olympic Weightlifting. Vestry Laight will conduct an independent assessment to evaluate USAW’s existing culture and past actions to determine how the organization can improve to ensure it is accessible, safe and welcoming to “Anyone, Anywhere.” Vestry Laight will build upon work completed by Prince Lobel and the Inclusion Playbook.
